Wearable Tracy- This was how the idea was born...

May 20th was my dear friend Tracy's birthday.

Tracy currently lives in San Francisco.

I totally forgot her birthday. Yap. My bad. I forgot!!!

It was the facebook reminder that sent me the message to celebrate her birthday….

Well… I had already left my house and was on my way to a ½ day workshop in Brooklyn.

But knowing that she always loves getting personalized gift, I ran into a dollar store near the subway station and got bunch of pipe cleaners and on the subway ride, I made a birthday crown.

I wore it and took a few photos and sent them to Tracy. I love that woman!!!

I wore it during the workshop and afterwards through the streets of New York city and eventually to a cocktail party near city hall.

During this 8 hour of wearing this birthday crown, many people smiled, took second look, and even asked me what this was all about…

To those curious souls, I offered the answer that I am celebrating my friend Tracy’s birthday!

Then on Sunday, I didn’t want to stop celebrating... Wearing the birthday crown that I made just for Tracy made me so happy. She had made such an impact in my life… I wanted to continue celebrating her birthday!

So the idea of “Wearable Tracy” was born. As you can see I made Wearable Tracy one each day. If someone wants one of their own, I made one for them too! And I wear them outside at least for a brief moment!

I wear them all day inside my office. And when I am at home with my little one, she wears one too ^^
